About us:

AIR Wro is a programme of residencies, study visits and international cooperation carried out by the Culture Zone Wrocław. The main idea behind the AIR Wro programme is related to modern cities, their culture and identity. The concept of the city serves as a starting point for activities related to research and analysis of contemporary cities, their diagnosis and reflection on their condition, as well as the level of social and civic awareness of their inhabitants, their involvement and participation in the city’s projects, and sense of shared responsibility for the common space.

About the laboratory:

Self-publishing has been an ongoing trend in the creative environments over the last few years. This field is widely defined but mostly associated with graphic design, alternative storytelling, re-use and remix cultures, and D.I.Y. projects. Artists and designers are involved in making a zine, publications related to local communities and their stories, art and photo books. In addition to printing as a traditional tool, internet became a huge platform for artists and designers to share their projects. Self-publishing is also associated with grassroots initiatives, independent culture and urban movements for social issues.
