AIR Wro Talks 4.0: Culture for All

On the second day of the AIR Wro Talks 4.0 conference we will talk about strategies for including people with disabilities in cultural life. Before the discussion we also invite you to a presentation related to a case study of Muzeum Śląskie in Katowice and the process of making their institution more inclusive.

The culture of accessibility is still a major challenge for the organisations and institutions of culture in Central Europe. Theoretically, we are all aware of the need to create events and activities without barriers, but in practice it is not easy. So what can we do to enable more people with different degrees of disability to participate fully in our projects?

The introduction to the discussion will be a presentation prepared by Anna Dąbrowa and Dagmara Stanosz from the Muzeum Śląskie in Katowice, in which we will learn about their way to create an institution inclusive towards people with various degrees and types of disability. In the second part, three experts will talk about their experiences and good practices. Onny Eikhaug, president of EIDD Design for All Europe, a long-time programme leader in Design and Architecture Norway, where she was responsible for introducing pioneering solutions in the field of inclusive and user-oriented design, will join us for the panel. Other panelists are: Agata Etmanowicz, a delegate with the Impact Foundation, inspires and helps cultural organizations to disenchant everyday work thanks to the location of the audience at the heart of all their activities, as well as Bartłomiej Skrzyński, director of the Wrocław Bez Barier Office in the City Hall of Wrocław and the commissioner of the Mayor of Wrocław for People with Disabilities. The discussion will be moderated by Dr. Bartek Lis, coordinator of social projects at the ZAMEK Culture Centre in Poznań, including the 3rd Non-Congress of Culture Animators and the author of the project “Open Castle / BLIŻEJ Castle”.

Admission to the presentations is free, online registration is required. The form is available at www.airwrotalks.conrego.com.
