BERLIN_cultural forum_WROCŁAW at the Maxim Gorki Theater

Autor: Culture Zone Wrocław

Berlin and Wrocław are just over 300 km away, while the creative communities in both cities still do not know each other properly. In the Culture Zone Wrocław, we believe that it is worth investing time in getting to know each other and creating a stable platform for cooperation between these cities, especially in the area of culture and arts.

The goal of the project “BERLIN_cultural forum_WROCŁAW: Strength of the cities. Connected in Europe” is the development of relations between artists, curators and managers from Wrocław and Berlin, as well as the initiation of Polish-German projects and the creation of a long-term cooperation network. Thanks to the cooperation of Convivium Berlin eV, the  team of Berlin-Wrocław Kulturzug, the Culture Zone Wrocław within the framework of AIR Wro, and thanks to the financial support of the Berlin Senate for Culture and Europe, we managed to create a group of creators and culture promoters representing the dance-related scene, photography and contemporary music from both cities.

The forum aims to enable its participants to exchange experiences and initiate further cooperation. Within its framework, presentations and workshops will be held to develop ideas for joint projects. An important element of the program will also be visits to selected cultural spaces of Berlin. The invited experts will support the participants with knowledge on obtaining funds for international projects and good cooperation practices.

Wrocław-based environment will be represented by: Agata Ciastoń, Mateusz Czyczerski, Katarzyna Jaroch, Jakub Olejnik, Piotr Soroka, Paweł Szroniak, Kama Wróbel, Agnieszka Marcinowska and Karolina Wycisk.

Berlin-based environment will be represented by: Renata Abel, Sylvia Barth, Małgorzata Gajdemska, Anna Katalin Németh, Andreas Kaiser, Natalie Riedelsheimer, Anja Schäplitz, Joanna Szproch, Sylvia Tazberik, Alexandre Decoupigny, Sasha Amaya, David Fernandéz and Louis Volkmann.

On November 22-24, the working group representing creative environments from the two cities will meet at the Maxim Gorki Theater in Berlin, where they will have the opportunity to participate in workshops and presentations and work together to develop the basis for further activities between Berlin and Wrocław.
