The main idea of the event planned for the autumn is the compromise, usually discussed in a socio-political, business or relational contexts, but we do not hear about it very often in the context of cultural industries. We are not talking loud and clear about the difficulties of balancing art and marketing, legal regulations and the reality of cultural management, designing inclusive spaces and situations versus the reality in which cultural producers operate. We do not consider compromise in the context of cross-sectoral cooperation or establishing partnerships between extremely different entities, and we do not think about it when developing activities co-created with the inhabitants of our cities. Above all, we do not make compromises with ourselves by giving up overproduction of projects and focusing on maintaining a good life-work balance. In the course of the “City and Culture” conference we will take a closer look at the trends in cultural management and production, with the compromise being the common denominator.
The conference programme will include lectures, discussions and workshops, during which leading activists and practitioners will present the most inspiring tools and practices related to cultural inclusiveness and CCR (Cultural Corporate Responsibility). The conference will take place in Barbara, located in the centre of Wrocław, as well as in Recepcja – a new space of the Culture Zone Wrocław, between the 18th and 20th of October 2018.
