Four Walls, Vinicius Libardoni

The City of Wrocław in cooperation with the Sister City of Dresden has been organizing a residence exchange for artists specializing in workshop graphics for five years now. Thanks to the project so far Wrocławs based artists: Maja Dokudowicz, Natalia Tarnawa, Katarzyna Roman oraz Dominika Ziober-Król, were able to work in one of the largest graphic studio in Europe. It is worth mentioning that last year's visit of Beata Filipowicz was moved to the summer of 2021 due to pandemic situation.

Vinicius Libardoni

Vinicius Libardoni is a Brazilian-Italian architect and printmaker. He received his Architecture bachelor's degree back in 2012, honored for the best academic performance in the Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina (UFSC) Brazil, and has also being awarded with the “1st Prize for Graduated Architecture and Urban Planning Students” by the Institute of Brazilian Architects (IAB-SC) in August 2013. He received his MFA in Visual Arts in 2019 at the Akademia Sztuk Pięknych im. Eugeniusza Gepperta in Wrocław, where he is currently enrolled in the PhD program of the Doctoral School. From his objective experience he approaches architectural structures through a subjective artistic point of view. His artwork focuses on structures which are forgotten, abandoned or neglected, suspended between their past glory and the uncertain future.

“My plan for an artist-in-residence is to discover the architecture of Dresden, looking for forgotten buildings to inspire me to create images that I hope will move people and affect them emotionally. However, I believe that this project can support the debate on preserving architecture and memory in two closely related cities, such as Wrocław and Dresden." – Vinicius recalls.
