Being at a specific time, when restrictions hinder the realization of many plans, take away the opportunities for direct meetings and international activities, paradoxically, the need for cooperation is even stronger. The organizers decided to continue the platform of cooperation, which is "BERLIN_forum_culture_WROCŁAW: The power of cities. Connected in Europe", also this year. The aim of the project is to build relations between artists, curators and managers from Wrocław and Berlin, and to initiate Polish-German activities.
Virtual exchange of ideas and experiences
During this year's online meeting on November 27th at 10:00 a.m., which brings together representatives of many institutions and people who create culture from both cities, talks will focus on best practice and a form of international cooperation, as well as lessons learned from recent months. Discussions will revolve around the importance of acting across borders and future forms of action. There is no doubt that the links between the artistic circles of Berlin and Wroclaw have survived the recent difficult months and the temporary closure of borders - now we are starting a new chapter in which we are reshaping and rebuilding relations in a new reality.
Dialogue on international cooperation
Together with the invited guests we will try to answer the question: how to motivate them to act across (closed) borders, also despite the epidemic? We will also discuss the following topics:
- culture during climate change,
- diversity and urban culture,
- hybrid formats of artistic exchanges, online activities and real time.
We invite to listen to several thematic discussions conducted in Wroclaw-Berlin duos connected remotely "live". Apart from the exchange, analysis and diagnosis of the existing reality, the participants will talk about the future and the mentioned new chapter, and the audience will be able to join in the joint discussion. BERLIN_forum Kultury_WROCŁAW is both the result of cooperation between the Wrocław Cultural Zone, Kulturzug Berlin-Wrocław and Convivium Berlin e.V., and the continuation of the activities of the European Capital of Culture Wrocław 2016, with the support of the Berlin Senate for Culture and Europe. The main aim of the Forum, which has been running since 2018, is to strengthen the dialogue and cooperation between the cultural and artistic communities of Wrocław and Berlin.
As part of previous editions of this event, invited participants from both cities, connectd with such disciplines as dance, photography and contemporary music, developed joint interdisciplinary artistic projects that were presented to the audience of the capital of Lower Silesia and Germany:
