WRO Res: call for artists from Austria

In 2016 the Austrian Cultural Forum in Warsaw, the WRO Art Center and the Culture Zone Wrocław within the framework of AIR Wro started a new residency programme oriented at artists, curators and art mediators based in Austria and working in the broadly defined field of media art. Since the beginning of the WRO Res, we have a possibility to host Katharina Swoboda (October 2016) and Brigitta Bödenauer (October-November 2017). Our cooperation continues this year with yet another call for Austrian individuals, who’d like to come to Wrocław for a residency.

The residency will include the following formats, strategies and subjects: video, sound, installation, effectiveness, performance, digitalisation, archive, public space, site-specific actions, participation. One of the goals of the WRO Res programme is to make the residency more engaging for the audience of the WRO Art Center. The chosen resident will, among other activities, prepare open workshops, work-in-progress presentation or a live-act/performative event, in which they will refer to their daily practice and the subject they are focused on, as well as the research in the WRO Archive.

The organisers of the residency will provide accommodation in the city center, workspace in the premises of WRO Art Center, residency grant in the amount of 700 euro, refund of the travel costs up to the amount of 250 euro, production budget up to the amount of 200 euro, as well as full curatorial, production and promotional support.

Key workds of the call: sound art, media art, software, programming, archives, site-specificity, art mediation, communication, collaboration, artist’s presence, social interaction, critical approach, live act, performativity.
