June-hot culture now!

June is the month during which we usually realise that half of the year has already passed (when? it was like a blink of an eye…), and we still have the second half to carry out all the resolutions made at the beginning of 2018. If more frequent participation in culture was one of them, then you just found the perfect solution. What’s worth seeing in the upcoming month?

In the Guide, you will find a calendar comprising about 120 events in various fields of culture. As you will probably notice, the upcoming weeks will be abundant in outdoor events, often in rarely visited places. To discover the undiscovered, join us at the 10th edition of the WROsound music festival (this year with a stage in the Impart backyard), the 16th edition of the SURVIVAL Art Review (taking place in the palace of Wallenberg-Pachaly family) or the 7th edition of the European Night of Literature with ten readings by ten well-known readers (in ten locations spread around the less well-known Przedmieście Oławskie district). You can read the interviews with the curators of these three events about the mottos and programmes in the June issue of the Guide. Weather forecasts promise us some sweltering heat, but the Festival of High Temperatures might have something to do with it, as the organisers definitely want to make sure that the capital of Lower Silesia will be red-hot for one June weekend. Why? Because the gardens and studios of the Academy of Art and Design in Wrocław will be visited by people from all over Poland, who want to experience “hot art” and learn more about metal, ceramic and glass processing. Just a week later, Leśnica will charm, inspire and lure the visitors to attend the Fantasy Days. Speaking of remote reaches of Wrocław, in this issue we explore the Krzyki district, and together with Ugly Wrocław, we go on a sentimental trip around places that are only a history now. Regardless of the ever-changing line-up of events, the Guide is available as always – on paper and on-line – to guide you around the best aspects of Wrocław’s culture.
