Wroclaw Cultural Guide for September is here

TV stations launch their new programming, designers showcase their autumn/winter collections, and the cultural institutions announce their programmes for fall and winter season. September is here! We’ve heard that you missed the “Guide” and that you read the summer issue from cover to cover. That’s why we're going back to our monthly publishing schedule and information about cultural events in the city. And it will come as no surprise to anyone – there’s plenty to choose from.

TV stations launch their new programming, designers showcase their autumn/winter collections, and the cultural institutions announce their programmes for fall and winter season. September is here! We’ve heard that you missed the “Guide” and that you read the summer issue from cover to cover. That’s why we’re going back to our monthly publishing schedule and information about cultural events in the city. And it will come as no surprise to anyone – there’s plenty to choose from.

As long as the weather is good, we encourage you to take part in outdoor events: for example, on the 7th of September, we recommend the Day of the Triangle (Przedmieście Oławskie) – in this occasion we will take you along the former culinary trail in the neighbourhood. You can also go to Klecina to take part in a bittersweet walk, trying to save the premises of the former sugar factory from oblivion.

For fans of avant-garde music, September is pretty much synonymous with the Avant Art Festival, while photography lovers will definitely fall in love with TIFF Festival. The line-up of the former is presented by the event director Kostas Georgakopulos, and the calendar of events (visual arts section) presents the descriptions of individual exhibitions taking place as part of the TIFF. What more, when you solve a photographic crossword, you can check how much you are familiar with photography.

This issue also takes a closer look at two important anniversaries: the 100th anniversary of the launch of the National Library publishing series, which is inseparably tied to Wrocław, as well as 50th anniversary of death of two friends – Marek Hłasko and Krzysztof Komeda. The upcoming edition of the Wrocław Cinematograph film series will be devoted to their works.
