Wroclaw Cultural Guide for March

Calendar spring is just around the corner, but even today you can enjoy longer days and... the new Sunday trading ban. Apparently, this is all for our own good. In reality, all we can do now is look for opportunities to increase our participation in culture. As always, all the cultural events take place all month long, even on holidays, Sundays and other weekdays. You can find them all in our event calendar, but be warned – there are a lot of them.

On the 27th of March, we celebrate World Theatre Day. In connection with the Stage Songs Review, which is slated to take place in the second half of the month, we’re talking about the 39th edition of the festival with Cezary Studniak, artistic director of the Review. March will also bring a number of opportunities for talks and discussions, for example due to the AIR Wro Talks 3.0 and the new intake for the Microgrants programme, connected with consultations with the interested parties. We decided to write more about the International Women’s Day by taking a closer look at Modernist designers and their contributions to the city, we will also have some fun on St. Patrick’s Day – feel free to join us on our trip through breweries.

All these celebrations and events are perfect opportunities for wishes, congratulations or reflections. You can read more about all the nice gestures engraved in wood in our interview with the creators of Stolarnia Kartek (Woodshop of Cards). At the end of March, we are going to once again set our clocks an hour ahead to summer time, all while looking into the nooks and crannies of the former military base in Kępa Mieszczańska, thanks to our regular Ugly Wrocław column.

We would like to remind all men that on the 8th of March all women will be glad to receive flowers… along with a cinema or theatre ticket. The Wrocław Cultural Guide is here to help – with cultural recommendations from Bente Kahan and Leszek Możdżer. All the best to ladies!
