Alesia Maisei was born in 1998 in Grodno, Belarus. Currently, she lives and works in Katowice, where she studies Film and Television Image Production and Photography at the Katowice Film School. An audiovisual artist, engaged in multimedia art, photography and film, studying the art of cinematography.

She draws numerous inspirations from the trends of expressionism, primitivism, and expressive figurativism in painting, photography and film. She is interested in artists who take up taboo topics in their works: sexuality, death, violence, and social problems. The artists mentioned above appeal to her in this creative matter: Antoine d'Agata, Alex Webb and Gaspar Noe. She thoroughly studies performance arts and actionism, particularly Viennese Actionism. Most of the her artistic work consists photos of the creative photography type and they reflect emotional experiences, a vision of a sensitive mind and the constant striving to experiment with the visual form.

Alesia Maise is the last participant of Belarusian origin who lives in Poland and was invited to the project Overdue Time Off: Belarusian Winter, whose residence was moved to May 2021. The two-week residence in Wrocław is a time to breathe and a gesture of support for Belarusian artists in the time of current, disturbing events.
