Anna Wanik [Culture of Mobility 3.0]

During her residency in České literární centrum in Prague, Czech Republic, Anna Wanik translated an excerpt from Ivana Myšková's book “Nícení”, with which she worked on the translation itself. Wanik focused mainly on fragments describing the heroine's difficult relationship with her parents. Moreover, throughout her stay she was intensively involved in cultural life in Prague, participated in literary meetings and met with representatives of local NGO’s, planning joint projects for the future.

Anna Wanik – a graduate of philosophy and Czech philology, translator from Czech, founder of Kukatko Foundation which promotes Polish-Czech cultural cooperation. Coordinator of the Literary Citizens’ Budget within the European Capital of Culture programme Wroclaw 2016. Translator of Marek Sindelka’s short story collection “Zůstaňte s námi” (Stay with us) published by Afera Publishing House in 2016. In 2014 she was assigned to complete a project for the Polish Foreign Office; called “Poland? How it is eaten” it became one of the most interesting promotional campaigns popularizing Polish food in the Czech Republic. In 2017 she organized a conference “Academy of a Good Bookseller” during which booksellers from Czech Republic, Slovakia and other countries shared their experience of working in independent bookshops.
