Beata Stankiewicz-Szczerbik thinks with images that she turns into visual media: glass, film, computer graphics, performance and installations. She graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Wrocław in 1996. So far, she has participated in over a hundred exhibitions, both individual and group. For 15 years she designed and created stained-glass windows, e.g. in the Gothic St. Matthew Church in Wrocław. Her works are part of the permanent exhibition “Miracle-workers” [„Cudotwórcy”] at the National Museum in Wrocław. She promoted Wrocław and her work during numerous travels, including Japan, Denmark, the Netherlands and the USA.  

 

Beata Stankiewicz-Szczerbik will present her exhibition “Superpositions” [„Superpozycje”] during The Venice Glass Week in September this year. She will show six objects, including “Nō Theatre” [„Teatr Nō”], “Closeness” [„Bliskość”], “Pulse” [„Puls”], “Three Stupid Monkeys and One Wise One” [„Trzy głupie małpy i jedna mądra”], “Selfie of a Middle-aged Person” [„Selfie w wieku średnim”] and “Death Boat” [„Łódź śmierci”] prepared especially for this  occasion – a glass boat three meters long, inside which there will be a sleeping figure, made of glass as well. The exhibition is under the patronage of the Mayor of Wrocław and the Polish Institute in Rome.
