The aim of the residency of Łukasz Plata, a Wrocław-based musician associated with the bands Ukryte Zalety Systemu and Przepych, in Messina, Sicily, was to establish cooperation with the music scene concentrated around the Dalek Association located there. Plata, together with Jakub Majchrzak, the second member of Przepych duo, decided to explore the mechanisms of the association's functioning - the organisation of concerts, audiovisual recording and studio work. Dalek carries out its activities in the spirit of D.I.Y., by sharing the resources at their disposal through networks of friendly artists. This principle is also followed by the members of Przepych, who, together with other Wrocław musicians (such as Kurws, Barłóg or UZS), share not only their common space or equipment but also their experiences and the network of contacts. In this way, the work of musicians from Wrocław is based on bottom-up methods of organisation. The duo shared the studio with musicians from such bands as Les Spritz, Dick Hudson, Branches, which resulted in joint work on the musical material, a process that will evolve over the coming months. Another point of the stay in Messina was a concert for the local audience of the independent scene and its audiovisual documentation, currently edited as part of Dalek Sessions series.

The cities of Sicily, an area rather isolated from the rest of the European continent, are not involved in a circulation of cultural phenomena and events as dynamic as for example that in Wrocław – this observation has given rise to the need to plan joint Wrocław-Sicilian activities (creating a partnership for mutual musical presentations in our cities; inviting local animators to related study visits; using the existing infrastructure in Messina, such as the recording studio, the Dalek Sessions video series; using the close cooperation between Palermo, Messina and Catania to effectively promote their own and partner bands from Wrocław/Poland).
