Overdue Time Off: Belarussian Winter

At the beginning of November Palina Kamarova will take part in the Culture Zone Wrocław's  residential project Overdue Time Off: Belarussian Winter. Multimedia artist of Belarusian origin currently lives in Warsaw. She is a graduate of the Faculty of Journalism, which she defended diploma with a photographic art-zine "OŚĆ.Młodość.Samotność.Miłość". Currently she is studying at the Faculty of Media Art at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw.

Young artist is involved in documentary and reportage photography, she is creating small film forms and a project that combines visual and musical art "Project in the Bedroom for P project" (concerts at Community Center in Minsk Mazowiecki, ADA Pulawska and Barakah Theatre in Krakow). Together with Nawojka Gurczyńska she founded the artistic collective "Wszędzie". The author of the multimedia setting of the painting exhibition "Food is Good" in the Art of Choice gallery and the exhibition "Sensitivity" in the Stacja Muranów gallery. For the "Milk" project she received a distinction in the Large Room Studio, and one of the photographs of this series was presented in the National Museum in Cracow, as part of the "Art Now" project.  Palina's recent projects include a group exhibition in Warsaw's Fotoplastykon - "Look and Listen" under the patronage of the Warsaw Uprising Museum, as well as a multimedia setting for the exhibition to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the "BASI, ZATAŃCZYMY..." in the Dance Art Center in Warsaw.

Palina Kamarova is the first of the five female artists from Belarus but living in Poland invited to the Overdue Time Off: Belarussian Winter project. The two-week residency in Wroclaw is a time of breathing and a gesture of support for the artists from Belarus in the era of current, disturbing events.
