Power Of The Horns was founded in 2007 and in its work refers to the most famous, most influential jazz big-bands from the area of avant-garde music, such as Sun Ra Arkestra. At the end of April in Vienna, apart from Piotr Damasiewicz, its members presented themselves: Maciej Obara, Dominik Wania, Adam Pindur, Adam Niewiadomski, Gerard Lebik, Ksawery Wójciński, Zbigniew Kozera and Samuel Hall.

The ‘Power Of The Horns and Vienna Connections’ project, curated by Marzena Moser, was a unique opportunity for Polish musicians to play in Porgy & Bess – the most important and prestigious jazz club in Vienna. Moreover, it was also an opportunity to create the title connections between artists representing various music scenes. As part of the project, a series of concerts was organised, also in smaller ensembles, preceding the main performance of Power Of The Horns. Individual events showed the diverse and latest repertoire of selected artists. All these musical meetings are also the first step towards building a lasting cooperation between the Wrocław and Vienna jazz and improvised music scenes.
