Squid is a band of Kuba Łakomy and Tomek Grządkowski, who – fascinated by the Jim Jarmusch’s film Only Lovers Left Alive and its soundtrack – decided to form a band. Following this path, the musicians published two EPs and are currently preparing material for their first full album, which will be released by the regime brigade label – an artistic collective and a music publishing house from Wrocław. The foundation of their music is anxiety, characteristic of shoegaze, combined with dragged ambient chillwave drone sounds. Squid’s compositions could successfully serve as the soundtrack of many film productions. The priority of the concert will be to create high quality video recordings inspired by old recordings on VHS tapes.
