The grand final of the festival – the International Polish Jazz Day – looks to be a true musical marathon and an explosive mix of styles and experiences. From the early afternoon until late evening, over a dozen Polish performers will appear on three stages at Impart and the open-air stage in Społeczny Square. The day will be marked by performances of a strong representation of female vocalists in Wrocław – Krystyna Stańko will present songs from her Novos Anos album, Sabina Meck will perform with a quintet, and Beata Przybytek’s repertoire will include pieces from her latest album, Today Girls Don’t Cry. We will also hear guitarist Krzysztof Ścierański in the Laboratorium project, Sławek Jaskułke’s sextet, saxophonist Maciej Sikała, Bronisław Suchanek’s trio, as well as the Wójciński Brothers with drummer Krzysztof Szmańda. Returning to Jazz on the Odra will be Krzysztof Urbański, winner of the 2008 Jazz Personality Contest, while Robert Majewski will present the concert version of the Tribute to Henryk Majewski album, for which he received the Fryderyk Award for Album of the Year in 2017. Musicians from the Kraków Street Band will warm up the audiences on the open-air stage, along with the folk energy-filled Odpoczno, the iconic Mitch & Mitch, as well as Crash from Wrocław, reactivated after many years, who will appear with vocalist Natalia Lubrano.
