Meeting with artist
On Thursday, 15.11 at 7 PM, we’ll meet at the Łokietka 5 – Infopoint Nadodrze, where we’ll try to take a closer look at various activities related to public space together with the local community of urban activists. The meeting will be moderated by Katarzyna Roj, curator and author of texts on material culture, the manager of the Dizajn BWA Wrocław gallery.
In urban transformation mechanisms, the status quo analysis and the list of adverse practices are an important issue, which is the starting point for any remediation processes. It is relatively easy to indicate what annoys us, but it is more difficult for us to offer any specific solutions. It requires not only experience and knowledge. To change ourselves and the city in which we live, we must use our imagination.
For example: imagine a city without adverts, says Mario Paniego and uses a large-format media outlets as a plae to show the surface they cover. With a simple gesture, he raises some interesting issues that we will discuss during the Thursday meeting at Łokietka 5. During the discussion, there will be topics such as subvertising (interfering with the ad code), creating an artistic message on the mimicry (becoming similar to the environment being criticized) and the role of the artist’s imagination in the processes of repairing the world.

Exposistion of the results of Paniego’s work will be available for public at the Łokietka 5 – Infopoint Nadodrze from 16th til 30th of November 2018 (9 AM-5 PM).
