Stelmachowska is a designer born in 1989, a graduate of the University of the Arts Poznań (UAP). During her studies, she gained her first professional experience designing interiors, scenography and taking part in numerous workshops and competitions. Finalist of the international makeme! competition! 2015, Young Design 2016 and Electrolux Design Lab 2016. Laureate of the Haier Design Prize by IF. In her projects she focuses on issues related to urban space, social problems and sustainable design.
Stelmachowska wants to take a closer look at the life and attitude of the inhabitants of Sokołowsko. Her goal is to find out what is the level of their environmental consciousness and to determine air pollution is considered by them as a real threat, or whether they do not have any real influence on the condition of their lives, being a matter brought up mostly by eco-activists. Stelmachowska wants to create a sense of agility in the inhabitants of Sokołowsko and to make them aware of the fact that their daily habits – especially the ones related to transport, heating and food – have a real impact on the quality of life in their city. Metalworking factories will be a huge inspiration for the artist as she will use classic-like typography to create a series of signs advertising being proactive and eco-conscious.
