CITY AND CULTURE: COMPROMISE

The second edition of the conference “City and Culture” took place from the 18th until 19th of October 2018 in Wrocław. This event was prepared for culture managers, programmers, coordinators, curators, activists, creators, publishers – i.e. for the broadly understood culture staff.

The second edition of the “City and Culture” had its motto for the first time: COMPROMISE. It illustrates the changes in the functioning of the culture industry and, consequently, in the way we work. We decided to look at the leading issue from several angles: first of all, we were interested in it because of the budget we have at our disposal (e.g. in the context of the sources from which the funds for the implementation of our projects come, also in the case of intersectoral cooperation), the needs of the participants in the processes we implement, and finally, the language we use when talking about our offer.

As part of the second edition of the “City and Culture” we delivered: seven expert presentations on the implementation of projects related to intersectoral cooperation; three panel discussions with representatives of leading cultural institutions in Poland; five workshops addressed to cultural professionals, thematically related to the study of participation in culture, intersectoral cooperation or work-life balance; two guided tours of exhibitions and one study visit to a selected space for culture in Wrocław.
