Etno Cafe now rents the coffeehouse in Barbara. Iconic Sultan’s Cream is back in the menu

Barbara, a symbol of the European Capital of Culture Wrocław 2016, has a new tenant. The local brand Etno Cafe will open its venue at Świdnicka 8B in December. The wide offer of the coffeehouse will include a real rarity – the Sultan’s Cream, an iconic dessert from the times of Polish People’s Republic served in the Barbara bar. We will have a chance to take the first sips of coffee from Etno Cafe Barbara during the Miner’s Day, on 4th December. The official opening date will be announced soon.

The new tenant of the coffeehouse in Barbara was selected in a competition organised by Biuro Wrocław 2016. – In Barbara we have prioritised Polish brands, items and products from the beginning – and in the end it became a brand itself and a real symbol of the European Capital of Culture. For us, December is going to be a month full of changes and preparations in order to face new challenges. We are very happy that we can start the collaboration with a solid partner at this time. – says Krzysztof Maj, managing director of Biuro Wrocław 2016.

Sultan’s Cream is back in Barbara
Together with a new tenant an iconic dessert, the Sultan’s Cream, is coming back to Barbara. This sweet rarity was very popular in the Barbara bar during the times of Polish People’s Republic. Soon we will have a chance to try it again. An offer of Etno Cafe Barbara includes mostly a wide range of coffee roasted using the artisanal procedures, desserts and different types of breakfasts and brunches, including shakshouka, saldas, bagels and soups.

Cultaral Centre of Wrocław
During the two years of activity related to the European Capital of Culture, Barbara became a real centre of cultural events. In 2017 a number of open workshops and meetings were added to the programme of Barbara: from film screenings, discussions about photography, to art workshops for children and embroidering, cooking and plant cultivation lessons. It is still possible to access the collection of the Cultural Reading Room and in the Infopoint you can find out about cultural events taking place in the city. Etno Cafe Barbara and its carefully prepared food will be a perfect addition to the programme. – Very soon, in love with coffee and culture, we will be waiting for the residents of the city in Etno Cafe Barbara, right next to the cultural events and creative workshops – promises Zbigniew Dolata, a manager of the Etno Café chain. Meanwhile, on 4 December, on the Miner’s Day, people walking down the Świdnicka Street will have a chance to try the first cups of coffee from Etno Cafe Barbara. The official opening date of the new coffeehouse in Barbara will be announced soon.
