Inhabitants for inhabitans: project management in culture

Autor: Culture Zone Wrocław

We’re continuing a series of workshops for cultural operators from Wrocław – the second event will be held in Barbara on the 25th of May, as a part of the pilot edition of the Culture Practitioners programme. „Habitants for habitants” is directly related to the level of competencies of cultural producers, cooperation between each of them, and developing further projects with the local communities of Wrocław. It’s quite obvious that we want to use the context of the Microgrants –  a citywide support programme for bottom-up local initiatives, in which everyone can realize their idea for activities in the field of animation, social activation, education, related to all fields of art and other culture-creating nature.

We’re starting with the basics this time – the goal of this workshop is to make the participants familiar with the process of coordination and production of cultural projects – the small and large-scale ones. Planning, effective tools and methodologies of work will be presented. All of this on the basis of two case studies: „Odkrytki, Kochanym ciotkom” – a small, local initiative developed within the framework of the Microgrants programme and TIFF Festival – a photography festival held in 2011 for the first time, funded by the state, national and international funds, which makes it much larger than „Odkrytki”.

All of the habitants of Wrocław who were developing projects within the framework of the Microgrants programme are invited to participate in the workshop, as well as individuals who don’t have a lot of experience in coordinating cultural initiatives, especially the ones who seek knowledge about fundraising, planning, coordinating i promoting cultural projects or events. Partnerships, cooperations and resources available in the environment will be an important subject of our meeting, as well as evaluation and effective tools for implementation of it.

The report “microGRANTS ECoC 2016. Edition 2016” – prepared by a research team lead by Kamilla Dolińska from the University of Wrocław – will serve as a point of reference for the workshop. You can read the report online (it’s available in Polish only).

Workshop will be conducted in Polish and you can participate for free after you will register online via e-mail: praktycykultury@strefakultury.pl.
