K.A.I.R. Košice Artist in Residence: we know the results

Autor: Culture Zone Wrocław

Our cooperation with K.A.I.R. Košice Artist in Residence started in 2015 with a residency of Anna Zuber. Since then our favourite Slovak city hosted, among others, Fabien Lédé, Agnieszka Gotowała and Beata Rojek.

This year we wanted to encourage artists and curators to create projects related to dance and performance both in Košice and Wrocław. Residencies share one goal: to create a new space for dance environments in order to develop their skills and to share their experiences through workshops.

Katarzyna Kamecka, a graduate of the Culture Studies on the University of Wrocław, will go deeper into the craft of listening in a series of workshops and events. „Do you hear me well?” is a project based on a research of the capacity of listening in the Times of the digital era and new technologies. In her work, Kamecka will focus on workshops, mapping and free listening.

Zuzana Kakalikova, a graduate of the Academy of Arts in Banska Bystrica and the Academy Of Musical and Dramatic Arts in Bratislava, will come to Wrocław. As a performer, Kakalikova is exploring the capacity of the human body, research in the field of body language and different types of expressions in connection with actual themes and problems in society. „Seven Cloudy Days” is inspired by the photographies of Francesca Woodman - a young American photographer who worked and created in the 70’s. Woodman’s photos are a huge inspiration for Kakalikova, especially their subject – feminism, gender and body issues. Those matters will be explored by the performer during workshops.
