Field: Visual arts City: Wrocław

Dmitry Doroshenko ("Doktor Oy") – Belarusian artist born in Pinsk, graduate of the Pinsk Art School. He defended his higher artistic education at the Belarusian State Academy of Arts. He deals with graphics, installations and other visual forms. He is interested in the concept of interaction of art with the surrounding space and man.

Dmitrij is a participant in the project "Belarusian Spring" – an artistic residency under the AIR Wro programme, which is carried out in cooperation with the Neighbors programme at the Komuny Paryskiej 45 Workshop. The artist, during his six-week residency in Wrocław (May - June 2021), will focus on the relationship between a work of art and the city. As he notes: Wall painting, installation, sculpture - these items accompany people on the way home or on a walk, create a mood and improve the quality of life.

The artistic residency "Belarusian Spring" aims to reach the local community through artistic interventions in public space or joint activities with residents and creating a space for them to work. The artist will focus his activities on Przedmieście Oławskie, whose rich history, image changes over the years, as well as social issues have become an inspiration for many artists, both Polish and foreign.
