May issue of the Guide is already available!

It seems that we are getting closer to a reality that is finally going to be nice and beautiful. But is it going to be… normal?

The curators of one of the exhibitions featured as part of this year’s Festival of Painting believe that “the virus has changed the perception of the past, since it gave us a new framework for the present and closes the future. This is not the “new normal”, but the new anomaly.” And it would be difficult not to agree with them. This issue of the “Guide” is released according to our normal monthly release schedule, but again we had to go for a digital issue and the event calendar that features solely online events.

It seems that in the coming month, we will be able to walk a lot – to the art galleries, which will be opened at the start of May, to museums, as well as outdoor events after 15th of May. The pages of this month’s edition offer tons of inspiration – you can read Piotr Krajewski, originator of the WRO Media Art Biennale talking about this year’s concept and programme, and in an interview Jacek Barski explained how the draft Landscape Resolution, which is going to be consulted with the residents in May, can impact on the quality of our surroundings. How about the regular columns? The Eco-glossary of a Cultured Person takes a closer look at vegan fashion, in Black Wrocław Joanna Plizga showcases the Chemistry Auditorium building, Ugly Wrocław focuses on wrecks and you should Listen in May to Echo – the latest release by Tomasz Mreńca.

Since poetry is the perfect answer to everything, make sure to take a look at the article dedicated to the 6th Silesius International Poetry Festival and Raster Lichtensteina by Agnieszka Wolny-Hamkało, Wrocław-based poet. We also have something in store for reportage enthusiasts – excerpts from Janek Pelczar’s book debut – The pilots told me that.
