A study visit in New York was prepared thanks to the invitation of Ms Krystyna Magaj-Pituly, who runs the "ARTonia" programme for Polish-American children since 2011, conducts therapeutic classes with young people in one of the New York rehabilitation centres and organizes workshops and museum lessons for children and adults. Mrs Magaj-Pitula has been working at the New York School of Polish Language and Culture for the last 30 years.
The aim of Gołubowska's study visit is to exchange experience, practices and knowledge as well as artistic and professional development in the field of animation, building and conducting workshop activities based on museum collections, establishing cooperation with cultural and socially engaged art institutions, and establishing new contacts that will give both the possibility of artistic (promotion of own creativity) as well as professional (education, animation, mediation of art) development of Gołubowska.
The study visit will also allow the continuation of the educational and artistic project "Wołów - New York, New York - Wołów", implemented since 2017 in cooperation with cultural institutions in the area of Wołów. As part of its first edition, artistic works were created in both cities, which were then presented on the common side of the project, as well as during exhibitions organized in both cities. As part of a study visit, Gołubowska would like to get to know the participants of the project and the places they portrayed.
The study visit will also allow the implementation of the second edition of the "Wrocław - New York" project. As part of the study visit, the artist will also conduct workshops with participants of the "ARTonia" program. Together with the children, he will look at the artist creating in New York - Jackson Pollock, visiting, among others, Museum of Modern Art or the house of the artist himself.
