About the book

Reguły gry is an anthology of young poetry of Wrocław, presenting works by authors who published their first volumes, as well as those who are still awaiting publication, famous in Wrocław thanks to the monthly poetry slams in the Surowiec club. The anthology features poems by 33 authors, supplemented by two literary and critical commentaries. The collection is an attempt to capture the identity of the young poetry milieu of Wrocław, but – as its editor points out – it is hardly an easy task, since this is an incredibly expressive, but also secretive and ephemeral formation. Reguły gry was published as an e-book available for free online.

About the editor

Kamil Kawalec, a cultural studies graduate, is a local cultural animator, who has cooperated with foundations and institutions that deal with the development of culture in Wrocław. Originator of the “Nieregularne Środowisko” project, which promotes young poets of Wrocław. In private life, he writes poetic texts and works on his first book.

 „Dywan z wkładką”

Author: Marta Kisiel
Release date: 27.01.2021
Publishing house: W.A.B.
Number of pages: 416
Binding: paperback

About the book

Marta Kisiel kickstarts the new year with a perverse crime comedy with a corpse in a carpet found in the woods… The carpet (with a bonus) is found by Tereska Trawna, whose life is so out of control that she ends up a kitchen renovation project with buying a house in the countryside. Her troubles only really begin when she discovers that her husband is probably implicated in this crime. Teresa joins forces with her mother-in-law to find the real killer. Their efforts may get unexpectedly thwarted by their children, who think that their grandmother and mother are setting up an ambush for their father. The family situation adds a pinch of comedy – without taking away an ounce of tension.

About the author

Marta Kisiel is an acclaimed writer and translator from Wrocław, author of the popular Dożywocie series and the so-called Wrocław Series. To date, she has published ten novels, which brought her eight nominations for the Janusz A. Zajdel Prize – the most important award for fantasy authors in Poland. Recently, she also became known as an author of children’s books – the Małe Licho series was recognised by readers, as well as the Polish Section of IBBY, an international organisation dealing with promoting children’s and youth literature.
